We get it, scheduling a family can be complicated, even for the photographer’s family!
Our children are busy young adults with unique schedules which makes getting together as a family challenging. They understand our annual family portrait is VERY important to mom and they look forward to it too so they work to make it happen. This year it almost didn’t happen. Our oldest and her fiancée live out of state and were preparing to depart to the UK for a year long Masters Program, our youngest was away all summer with an out-of-state internship and home just briefly before heading back to college and our middle juggles part-time jobs and college classes.
As everyone was starting to make plans for the start of the school year, we quickly realized there was not one date everyone would be home before our oldest left the country. We knew this day might come ‘someday’, but ‘someday’ arrived much sooner than we wanted. Thankfully, a last minute house sitting gig kept our oldest in the area a few extra days and gave us just enough overlap to be able to create our annual family portrait which you can see below.
Many of you have been to our home studio and have seen the gallery wall showcasing our family through the years. Being able to add to this year upon year and tell the story of our family is invaluable to us and has increased in value in recent years as our children spread their wings and leave the nest.
Can you relate?? If your family's busy schedules seem impossible when trying to plan for a portrait, give us a call and we can chat about creative solutions.
